Cormac, youngest of the Earthlords is held prisoner by Balor. Through him, the Emperor has control of the Earthlore, the magic of the rocks and soils: he has the power to raise mountains, create islands, turn soil barren or make it incredibly fertile. The once proud De Danann people are little more than his slaves.
Catapulted back in time, Ken and Ally seek Faolan the Windlord and Paedur the bard. The band of companions must land on the Fomor Isles, homeland of the Emperor's warriors.
And time is running out. Every time the young Earthlord calls upon his power he weakens the very fabric of the De Danann Island. Unless he is stopped, the land will be torn apart.
