Sophronia's more interested in dismantling clocks and climbing trees than learning the proper etiquette at tea. Mrs. Temminnick is worried that her daughter will never grow up to be a proper lady.

So she decides to send Sophronia away to Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality. Little does Sophronia (or her mother!) know that this is a school where ingenious young girls learn how to finish... but it's the wrong kind of finishing. It seems that Sophronia and her new friends are going to have a rousing first year at school.
