Treasure!
Sam and Mary were injured, Tom was nearly buried in a cave-in, and now the walkie-talkie was dead. Perhaps it had broken when he fell. Tom quickened his pace even though he had no idea where this tunnel would lead or what he might find. After what seemed forever, Tom came to an iron staircase that led upward 10–15 feet and ended at a concrete circle. Tom climbed the stairs, but stopped dead in his tracks. Directly in front of him was a skeleton dressed in tattered clothes, staring with an evil grin upon what had once been lips. Clasped in one hand was a piece of paper, and in the other was a pistol!
Treasure!, the first in a series of books, is a story about Sam McCarthy and his friends who, while playing their favorite game, Numarian Spies, find a real adventure. Pretend spies, pretend maps, and pretend stories lead to real criminals, real maps, and real treasure. That treasure leads Sam, Tom, and Mary on a ten-year time travel adventure to stop the evil Harold Henderson from destroying the universe.
