Early Harvest
Early Harvest is the special anthology for Boskone 25 Guest of Honor Greg Bear. The anthology contains two early short stories rewritten for this anthology, four pieces of film criticism written originally for publication in the Los Angeles Times, and four journalism pieces.
"A Martian Ricorso" is an interesting speculation story of what a manned expedition to Mars might have found. This story was first published before the revelations of the Viking landers and could still just barely be possible.
"Webster" is considered by Greg to be his first substantial sale. This story is an offbeat fantasy that concerns a spinster's obsession that brings about a startling transformation of a copy of one of the nation's most common books, in this woman's apartment.
