When Jason, a wildlife biologist with the Forest Service, goes to Oregon to investigate reported wolf-attacks on livestock, he becomes skeptical. After seeing that five hundred pound cattle are being decimated by their mysterious predator, he is increasingly convinced that something else is responsible. Meanwhile, a scientist named Claire is conducting genetic research in a remote lab for unknown reasons. Is there a connection between her work and the livestock attacks? The only things he knows for sure are that she has secrets to hide, and that whatever is causing these deaths is NOT an ordinary wolf...

Deborah Munro is a mechanical and biomedical engineer with extensive experience in the orthopedic implant and medical device industry. In addition to her engineering career, she has also served as an engineering professor. Despite her strong background in the sciences, Deborah has always maintained a fervent passion for writing.
Deborah's journey as an author encountered a significant delay as life took her on various paths. However, in 2014, she took a pivotal step by applying and being accepted into Stanford's Online Writing Certificate program. Joining a cohort of 45 aspiring writers, she embarked on a transformative educational journey. Through a series of courses and rigorous training, Deborah diligently honed her writing skills. She emerged from the program as a proud graduate, armed with a completed manuscript for her novel, "APEX." The manuscript underwent several major revisions, gradually evolving into the compelling sci-fi thriller it is today. While there is still work to be done, the novel is now beginning to take its final shape.
