Original title: Kongres futurologiczny.

World-renowned cosmonaut Ijon Tichy, persuaded to attent the Eighth World Futurological Congress, is severely injured when the Congress is routed by Costa Rican revolutionaries, is refrigerated in liquid nitrogen, and awakens the year 2039.

Man has created a Utopia, one based on a chemocratic sytem of government, and henceforth, whatever mankind wants, mankind gets, helped along by strong doses of hallucinogenic drugs.

Lem's witty description of the future features a wild vocabulary of linguistically-sound words to express concepts that don't yet exist, but could.
