Joyleg
In a mountain hamlet so isolated even the U.S. Postal Service ignores it, a federal investigative team discovers Isachar Joyleg, an ancient government pensioner whom the investigators gradually come to believe is just what his testimony makes him out to be - a veteran of the U.S. Revolutionary War. Some details of Joyleg's character and history make him hard to present as a Revolutionary hero to the American public.
However, if the U.S. repudiates Joyleg, the U.S.S.R. will be happy to adopt him... perhaps he had ancestors in Soviet Georgia? And surely the world will benefit from the secret of his remarkable longevity. But will the world want Joyleg's secret?
