Dabel Brothers to Release “The Death of Dulgath” Graphic Novel—
Straight from Michael J. Sullivan’s Newest Novel in the Riyria Chronicles
The gorgeously illustrated adaptation promises to be a page-turner as rogues-for-hire Hadrian and Royce attempt to protect a noblewoman targeted for assassination.
Atlanta, GA — Dabel Brothers Publishing has partnered with fantasy and science fiction author Michael J. Sullivan to release “Riyria: The Death of Dulgath,” a graphic novel based on the best-selling Riyria books. Existing fans and new readers will have the opportunity to participate in the creative process by contributing to the upcoming Kickstarter campaign this spring.
Sullivan is among the most successful hybrid authors in his genre and his books have sold more than three-quarters of a million English copies worldwide and have been translated into 12 foreign languages. With 10 released novels to his credit and five awaiting publication, he has been featured on more than 150 best-of and most-anticipated lists, including those compiled by Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and Audible.
“I’m a huge fan of graphic novels and it’s always been high on my wish list to see Royce and Hadrian portrayed in this medium,” said Sullivan when asked about the graphic novel adaptation. “The Dabel Brothers’ enthusiasm for this project and their impressive track record makes them the perfect partner.”
While the adaptor has yet to be announced, artist Nigel Raynor will illustrate the graphic novel, “Riyria: The Death of Dulgath.” In the book, the mercenary and ex-assassin team of Hadrian and Royce must venture to a forgotten corner of the world to save a mysterious woman who knows more about Royce than is safe and cares less about herself than is sane.
“With Michael, every book is an adventure. I have so much respect for him as a storyteller,” said Ernst Dabel, president of Dabel Brothers Publishing and a longtime fan of Sullivan’s books. “His Riyria tales are hugely popular, and we think fans are going to love seeing them in this new medium. Even first-time readers are going to be instantly hooked!”
Dabel Brothers Publishing is well known for its comic book and graphic novel adaptations of countless science fiction and fantasy books, including Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series and Kevin Hearne’s popular Iron Druid Chronicles.
