Lucy Kissick is a PhD researcher in planetary science, currently simulating ancient Martian lakes in the lab at the University of Oxford, and is also the principle scientist on a mission concept to the Asteroid Belt in collaboration with the European Space Agency. Plutoshine won the inaugural W&A Working-Class Writers' Prize in 2019. Born in Southport, Plutoshine is her debut novel.
