Blood and Gold is an extremely bad horror and dark fantasy book. The deterioration of The Vampire Chronicles is a good example of what happens when a writer tries to please fans by writing more books when all the exciting and new ideas have run out. I only read this book, because I wanted to read the whole series. Otherwise I wouldn't have read it. If you liked Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned, you should avoid this book. You'll only be disappointed, if you try to read it.
