Guest post: Coming Attractions—What’s Next?
By Gail Z. Martin
We’ve had a busy year with plenty of new releases, making up for lost time over the pandemic. It feels good to return to ongoing series and bring out the next installments, visiting characters who feel like old friends and coming back to familiar settings.
Spells, Salt, and Steel: Season Two is coming from Falstaff Books later this fall. This collection contains books 5, 6, 7, and 8 in the adventures of Mark Wojcik, mechanic/monster hunter and his team of unlikely heroes. Stay tuned for more, because we’ve signed a new contract for four additional installments!Spellbound is also due this fall from Falstaff Books, the fourth in the Joe Mack Adventure series with an immortal Roaring Twenties monster hunter. Joe takes on vampires, psychotic psychics, murderous mesmerists, and a killer carnival. We’ve also got a new contract for more Joe, and these stories will bring him forward into current times, where he can team up with characters from our other urban fantasy series.
C.H.A.R.O.N., the second book in the Night Vigil series (sequel to Sons of Darkness) will be out in November. Brent Lawson and Travis Dominick answer a call for help in a hard-luck mining town where mine ghosts, ancient supernatural creatures and secret government research-gone-wrong threaten everything.
Outlaw’s Vengeance, book five of the Assassins of Landria series, should be out in early 2023. Ridge, Rett, Henri and their found family are closing in on avenging the king’s death and stopping his murderer—but things are never what they seem.I’m also still working on Reckoning, the third Darkhurst novel, and we’re planning a new Iron & Blood steampunk novel, along with more books in the Deadly Curiosities series and two new Wasteland Marshals books. There’s plenty more adventure coming your way!
