Anna Sophia McLoughlin

Amid the polished charm of society’s upper crust, Anna Sophia McLoughlin finds the shadows. Her thrillers don’t shout—they whisper secrets behind gold-gilded doors, luring readers into worlds where appearances deceive and privilege masks peril. With her adult debut A Girl Like Us, McLoughlin spins a locked-room mystery rooted in old money, ambition, and betrayal—a taut psychological drama with a chillingly intimate view of power’s darker side.

Before stepping into the adult thriller genre, McLoughlin was best known for The Luxe series, written under the name Anna Godbersen. Those novels draped readers in velvet and scandal, offering young adult audiences a taste of historical glamour and intrigue. Now writing under her full name, she sharpens that flair for social tension into something more cutting, threading her stories with quiet menace, emotional ambiguity, and women navigating treacherous emotional and societal landscapes.
