The Rose Sea

HOTLINE TO GOD...

Long ago the Great Ones made a world, and to it they brought the life of a dozen planets, men and not-men and beast-men, plants and fabulous beasts; in it they established laws of Nature and Magic. Over it as guardians they set the lesser gods they created. But as the eons passed, the Great Ones departed and the lesser gods decayed, some into madness and cruelty, some locked away from the world.

Bren Morkaarin was an obscure officer in the armies of the New Empire of Tykiss. Kara Grenlaarin was a rancher's daughter, in town to sell her horses. War brought them together; the touch of the Gods gave them a destiny.

It drove them through the galleys and cannonades of the Imperial Sea, the crash of musket and pike outside the bone-white walls of An Tiram, decadent capital of the wizard-kings, to the jungle-grown ruins of the far south and the shores of the Rose Sea. There the final battle would be fought for the Theophone of the Gods.

The stakes: a new age of freedom and growth for humanity... or an eternal nightmare under the power of the One of a Thousand Faces, insane demon-god of Tarin Tseld.
