Maithree Wijesekara

Maithree Wijesekara is an Australian-Sri Lankan writer based in Melbourne. With a Master's degree in Dentistry, she divides her time between promoting dental health and crafting stories inspired by both the fantastical and the real world. Her debut novel, The Prince Without Sorrow, is the first book in the Obsidian Throne trilogy. Inspired by the Mauryan Empire of Ancient India, the story follows Prince Ashoka as he defies his father’s persecution of witches and joins forces with Shakti, a witch seeking revenge for the destruction of her village.
