A very enjoyable series, if you are a fan of Elizabeth Moon's Vatta series, or Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan series you will find an excellent read in these books. -Ron Restorff

A Canticle for Leibowitz is one of the classics of science fiction. It was the first book to address the modern nuclear threat and cold war issues directly. While the cold war is behind us, it still provides a cautionary tale of what can happen when events take on a life of their own.

If you are a fan of fantasy fiction this is an absolute must read regardless of your age. Not only is it timeless in its own right, but it is the foundation that all fantasy fiction rests on. I have this edition in hardcover and as I make the transition to e-books, this book, with its illustrations, page design and quality binding will forever have a place on my bookshelf.

This is one of my "prescription" books. When I read it again I am always cheered up and feel a little better.

If you reread Tolkien from time to time then Grunts is a must read. You will never hate an orc again!
