Jaclyn Kot

Jaclyn Kot writes the kind of fantasy romance that lingers long after the last page, weaving together shadow-drenched worlds, characters who blur the line between hero and villain, and love stories that burn as fiercely as they ache. Her Between Life and Death series has captured the hearts of dark fantasy romance readers around the world, earning millions of reads on Kindle Unlimited and recognition from Amazon’s “Best of BookTok.”

Her path to publishing was anything but rushed. The seed of her debut story was planted more than a decade ago, but it wasn’t until 2021 that she rewrote it from the ground up, determined to bring her characters the life they deserved. When Between Life and Death arrived in 2023, it was quickly embraced for its morally grey male lead, its strong and complex heroine, and its blend of spice, mythology, and high-stakes twists. Sequels followed swiftly, expanding her Edenvale world with deeper lore, heartbreak, and the kind of intensity that keeps readers awake at night.

Kot grew up in Saskatchewan, where endless prairie skies and the quiet rhythm of farm life shaped her imagination. Today she still calls the Canadian prairies home, living on a farm with her husband, two cats, a dog, and a flock of chickens that often find their way into her Instagram feed. Away from her desk, she is as much a reader as a writer, inspired by fantasy greats like Sarah J. Maas and Jennifer L. Armentrout, yet intent on carving her own space with stories that are unapologetically dark, romantic, and empowering.

At its heart, her work is about transformation, the courage to face shadows, the vulnerability of love, and the strength that comes from surviving both. Readers have shared that her books helped them through difficult moments in their own lives, a reminder of the quiet power stories can hold. For Jaclyn Kot, that is the true measure of success, not just bestseller banners but the connection her worlds create, one reader at a time.
