Craig Lamont

Dr Craig Lamont is a graduate of the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow, with a diverse background in Creative Writing, English Literature, and Scottish Literature. His AHRC-funded PhD, ‘Georgian Glasgow: the city remembered through literature, objects, and cultural memory theory’ (2015), was an interdisciplinary body of work central to a collaboration between the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Life, involving the major exhibition How Glasgow Flourished: 1714-1837 at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in 2014. It won the 2016 Ross Roy Medal for the best PhD relating to Scottish Literature. His debut monograph, The Cultural Memory of Georgian Glasgow, was published in 2021 by Edinburgh University Press. Besides writing short fiction, Craig has also been commissioned as a historian by the National Trust for Scotland and Barclays Bank.
