"Some occult authors contend that Kane was one of the first true men, damned to eternal wandering for some dark act of rebellion against mankind's creator."

Indeed, Karl Edward Wagner's Kane is a mighty being who reappears in all ages and all lands, and who is frequently allued to in the annals of the occult. Kane is a warrior without equal, a giant of a man. Redhaired and lefthanded, it is his piercing blue eyes that stamp him indelibly with the appearance of a ruthless killer.

Here, strange rites are demanded in the city of Andalar where the dead king's retinue must follow him into death; an encounter with a werewolf in a winter land, and the quest of Kane for a priceless crown. There are further doings in a forgotten inn that involve an apprentice to the cult of the Seven Nameless, and the affair at "Raven's Eyrie" in which Kane's child is marked for sacrifice on Demonlord's moon.

The Book of Kane presents the best of the popular Kane tales in a permanent volume with illustrations by the award-winning artist, Jeff Jones. The volume includes: "Reflections for the Winter of My Soul," "The Other One," "Misericorde," "Raven's Eyrie," and "Sing a Last Song of Valdese."
