About the book

Freqout

Freqout is rock music’s ultimate destiny. Powered by microscopic endo-tech cerebral implants and fuelled with mind-warping designer narcotics, it is sweeping the globe and leaving in its wake a trail of deaths and injuries through brain damage incurred by over-exposure to highly illegal, highly dangerous subliminal input.

The Golgotha Vultures are the undisputed demi-gods, and their bitter rivals are the undisputed demons, Hellbent. Although owned by the same multi-national corporation, Babylon Inc, these pretentious, squabbling siblings persistently try to upstage one another with ever more lurid, voyeuristic showpiece gimmicks.

Purist rocker Emmanuelle Xavier plans to change all this and destroy the detrimental frenzy that is Freqout, in vengeance for her brother Jamala’s death, which was caused by the internecine drugs and subliminal mind control inextricably associated with the scene. To help her achieve this monumental task, the dogmatic morality realignment stalwarts Righteous Enterprises adopt her as their mascot in the ceaseless war of attrition with Babylon.

Caught up in the middle of all this is Hal Crolin, hapless errand-boy for Maxim City’s crime-lord King Blitz. Hal has been adversely affected by faulty direct-access subliminal suggestions on a dodgy pirate copy of the Golgotha Vultures’ latest hardcell ‘Amoebic Conception’. Now he is sacrificing victims to the lurid imagery and lyrics haunting his shattered mind.
