Berserker's Planet

Fred Saberhagen

Five hundred years have passed ince the forces of humankind vanquished the Berserker armada, and mankind's most implacable foe no longer terrorizes the populated galaxies.

Yet in that apocalyptic struggle a lone Berserker survived, and limped to secret sabctuary on a planet called Hunter's World. Over the years, it has assumed a god-like status; the death of all living organisms its only creed. But single human sacrifices will no longer satisfy the Berserker-god – it is time for the ultimate offering... the whole human race.
