Six weeks have passed since the bloody battle that ended Tristaine: The Clinic.
The five Amazons of Tristaine, and Brenna, the City medic who escaped from the Clinic with them, have found healing refuge in an alpine meadow. Caster, the eminent City scientist who pursued them into the mountains, still stalks the refugees.

The six women learn Tristaine is in danger of attack by a vengeance-seeking Caster. They begin a dangerous trek home over mountain passes, carrying an injured Kyla. They arrive in time to learn that Caster has rallied her troops, and will attack within days...
