The Animals of Farthing Wood
The Animals of Farthing Wood was originally published by John Goodchild Publishers in the first half of 1979 as two separate paperbacks, entitled Escape from Danger and The Way to White Deer Park. They were only released in this separate form once, and have since been released as the single novel, The Animals of Farthing Wood.
A group of forest animals unite to help each other to safety in this classic tale of tolerance, cooperation, survival, and friendship. When bulldozers enter Farthing Wood, the animals must escape before their homes are destroyed. They promise to stick together and protect each other – but then they get caught in a fire and nearly drown crossing a river. Will their pact hold?
Both heart-wrenching and heartwarming, this beloved story has been translated into 16 languages.
