William Francis Nolan (born 1928) is an American author, who writes mostly in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. He is best known for coauthoring the novel Logan's Run, with George Clayton Johnson. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 1976 horror film Burnt Offerings which starred Karen Black and Bette Davis.

Of his numerous awards, there are three of which he is most proud. He was voted a Living Legend in Dark Fantasy by the International Horror Guild in 2002. He is twice winner of the Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America. In 2006, he was bestowed the honorary title of Author Emeritus by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Inc.

George Clayton Johnson (born 1929) is a science fiction writer most famous for co-writing the novel Logan's Run with William F. Nolan. He is also known for his work in television, writing screenplays for such noted series as The Twilight Zone, such as "Nothing in the Dark", "Kick the Can", and "A Game of Pool", and Star Trek, the first aired episode of the series, "The Man Trap". He also wrote the story on which the 1960 and 2001 films Ocean's Eleven were based and the novel on which the 1976 film Logan's Run was based. He was proprietor of Cafe Frankenstein.
