Two young girls are haunted by the spirit of their dead sister, Peggy, tragically drowned in a swimming pool. Peggy had always imagined herself as Gerda, the lead character in Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen. Now, in the dead girl's imagination, the fictional Snow Queen has been resurrected in the form of Hel, the legendary being supposedly responsible for the Black Death and death by freezing.
