Bad Blood

Kubai Mata warrior Thomas Creek stumbles upon the body of dead counterfeit comarre. The girl turns out to be the mayor’s estranged daughter and mayor is forced to accept the othernatural reality facing her city. Creek recruits Malkolm and Chrysabelle to help educate the mayor, but Chrysabelle has other things on her mind. Like finding her brother. Doing that means getting the ring of sorrows back from the fae who’s holding it ransom.

While Chrysabelle and Malkolm work toward the ring’s return, Samhain approaches, bringing with it the final melding of the mortal and othernatural worlds. No one knows just how much power the night holds, but as a precaution, the mayor cancels all Halloween events, throwing a pebble into the ocean of trouble headed her way.

More counterfeit comarre are murdered and when the killer is finally found, hard lines are drawn between mortals and othernaturals. A new war erupts, erasing any chance for peace, and Chrysabelle, ring in hand, gains some unexpected new power.
