Twenty-one-year-old Spence returns to his hometown after two years in the Army and falls in love with Cindy Brasher, Homecoming Queen and town goddess to a long line of jealous men.

Ed Gorman, 1941-2016 was an award winning American author best known for his crime and mystery fiction.
He has written under several pseudonyms including E. J. Gorman and Daniel Ransom. He won a Spur Award for Best Short Fiction for his short story "The Face" in 1992.
