I have fought against your people, and I have fought for your people. I have killed, and I have murdered, and I have battled. I have betrayed my kin, and I have crippled my king. I have led countless warriors to their deaths. I have fought to save one worthless life. I have battled monsters and men, and I cannot always tell the difference.

And now I have returned.

For two years I have been making my way back to your lands, to find the woman I love and the children who look to me for protection. My hope is that my people will not notice me, that they believe me to be dead. Otherwise they will hunt me down. My hope is that the war between my people and yours will be over. Otherwise my heritage will betray me to your warriors.

But hope is a rare commodity. And if I have to, I will fight.
