Pink Smog
Despite how much Louise insists, no one will call her Weetzie. It’s her dad’s nickname for her, but it won’t stay put. And neither will her dad. Charlie left Louise and her mom and he took everything with him: her family, her home — and her understanding of who she’s meant to be. Now Louise must sift through the smog of her heartbreak, grow her own wings, and become Weetzie.
Published more than twenty years ago, Weetzie Bat continues to be an iconic treasure for teens everywhere. Pink Smog reintroduces Weetzie to a whole new generation who will fall in love all over again with Francesca Lia Block’s beautifully crafted and brutally honest world. Pink Smog was cherished by critics and received three starred reviews. And as Maggie Stiefvater, New York Times bestselling author of the The Raven Boys, puts it, “Pink Smog sparkles and obscures; it’s a glorious mirage.”

Francesca Lia Block
Francesca Lia Block (born 1962) is the author of many young adult books, most famously the Weetzie Bat series.
Weetzie Bat
The Weetzie Bat books are set in an almost dream-like, heightened version of Los Angeles, "Shangri-L.A.", in an indefinite time period that evokes both the essence of the 1980s punk craze and the sophisticated glamor of Hollywood in the 1950s.
Weetzie Bat consists of six primary books, and includes one additional book that complement the series but is not considered mandatory reads. The current recommended reading order for the series is provided below.
