Demon Hunter Severian - Lady of the Night Gates

A.D. 394. Milan, the new multiethnic capital of the Roman Empire, is in grave danger.

Citizens from all walks of life die horribly in their sleep. Mysterious beings wander through the necropolis. A small statue, whose look is so grotesque it is intolerable to view, summons back an ancient pre-Christian deity whose name was better forgotten.

Only Severian, the Demon Hunter, can deal with this terrible menace.

Between horrid exhumations, black magic rituals, and ancient cults crawling beneath the ashes of the purifying fire set by Emperor Theodosius to assert Christianity, Severian’s investigation will lead him to a plot with potentially devastating consequences for the Empire itself. A plot behind which hides the goddess Hecate, The Lady of the Night Gates and mistress of every door of the universe.

Demon Hunter Severian – Lady of the Night Gates perfectly recreates Imperial Milan with historical accuracy and blends action, mystery, romance and fantasy, leaving the reader holding his breath to the last page.
