Beyond World's End
World-saving bard and magician Eric Banyon moves into his new New York
apartment hoping to settle down to the quiet life. No such luck: his
building is a safe-house for a group of occultist Guardians protecthing
the city from supernatural evil. And their's a new evil fro them to
gurard against.
When unethical drug researches discover that they can induce amazing
mental powers using psychotropic drugs, they begin planning to raise a
drug-enslaved army of mercenaries and grow very, very rich. But this
gets the attention of Aerune mac Audelaine, lord of the dark Unseleigh
Sidhe, who hopes to use the drugs to break through to the human world
and feed on the suffering there. Both plans will bring terror to the
world - and both are threatened by the very existence of Eric Banyon.
With his possibly loyal companions - a beautiful elven half-breed and
a gargoyle - Eric heads for a three-way battle of wizardry that will
determine Gotham's fate - and his own.
Mercedes Lackey
Mercedes Ritchie Lackey (born 1950) is an American writer of fantasy novels. Many of her novels and trilogies are interlinked and set in the world of Velgarth, mostly in and around the country of Valdemar. Her Valdemar novels form a complex tapestry of interaction between human and non-human protagonists with many different cultures and social mores.
Her other main world is one much like our own, but it includes clandestine populations of elves, mages, vampires, and other mythical beings. The Bedlam's Bard books describe a young man with the power to work magic through music; the SERRAted Edge books are about racecar driving elves; and the Diana Tregarde thrillers center on a Wiccan who combats evil.
Bedlam's Bard
Bedlam's Bard consists of six primary books, and includes one additional book that complement the series but is not considered mandatory reads. The current recommended reading order for the series is provided below.
