Dead Birds

Comes the Conqueror #2 / 3
by Michael McClung
Dead Birds (Comes the Conqueror #2) by Michael McClung
Unrated

The second installment in the new epic fantasy serial by Michael McClung:

"Whatever the skjalds of my native Goethland may sing of my story, you can be sure it will be full of blood, and courage, and grim fate. When the Ibarran poets put it to rhyme, love will no doubt feature prominently, and treachery. Neither will be wrong. There are many sides to every story, and performers must play to their audience.

"I will tell the story as it happened, which is perhaps the least entertaining way any tale may be told. I am no skjald, no poet. I am Vostock Soundredeson, Vostock the Serpent, Vostock the Betrayer.

"I am tired, and the tale is long."

Vostock and Edda have survived the murderous attack in the village of Senonius, but at a price. Ahead wait new allies and new enemies, an unfathomable mystery - and, like a spider in the center of some vast web, Aeternox, the Eternal City.

Michael McClung

Michael McClung was born in San Antonio, Texas, but now putters around Southeast Asia. He has had the requisite number of odd jobs expected of a speculative fiction author, including soldier, book store manager, and bowling alley pin boy. His first book, the Sword & Sorcery novel "Thagoth," won the Del Rey Digital first novel competition in 2002 and was published by Random House in 2003.

The first four novels of his self-published Sword & Sorcery series "The Amra Thetys Chronicles" will be re-released by Ragnarok Publications in 2015.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys kickball, brooding and picking scabs.
