Darker Loves: Tales of Mystery and Regret

This mixed-genre collection of weird tales is a fascinating ride through fantastic lands and strange adventures in horror and dark fantasy. James Dorr's quirky imagination immerses us in THE POOL CULTURE, where the unusual effects of a swimming pool and apartment building are alive with unseen denizens from a dark dimension. SWARMS is the bizarre story of a man who becomes a hive for host-wasps, and conducts his ultimate revenge on society. THE WALKING is an unusual story about two guards on a wall watching for Ghouls, but instead find the ghost of a woman walking instead. There are more weird tales and poetry in this fine and eclectic collection from James Dorr.

"James Dorr's work if for those who want to be whisked away from their day to day reality and taken to other places and eras... There's not an ordinary tale to be found. This is Dark Fantasy in the fullest sense of the term, not as a euphemism for horror." - Garret Peck, Cemetery Dance

"Contemporary spook yarns, historical fantasies of many lands and eras, oreintal fables - all these and more benefit from Dorr's skilled touch... Additionally, in a selection of poems, he reveals himself to be a fine versifier as well." - Paul DiFillipo, Asimov's SF Magazine
