Wrench is a Fixer.
Someone born to maintain, fix, and correct any and every issue that could go wrong in the Habitat that he lives in. To make sure he and his fellow humans can remain on display and entertain their owners as any good human pet would.
Or at least, that’s what he was born to be.
Now after getting a second chance along with a super power that lets him alter anything and everything in regards to his own body, he’s trying to fix his life.
To live his life for himself with the goal of actually enjoying it, all while being thrust ever deeper into a situation he didn’t expect.
A situation involving Tongsta, their pets, and the galaxy as a whole.
One that’s going to need his help to fix it, whether anyone wants it to happen, including Wrench, or not.
Now that the Tongsta are firmly aware that Hume, and Grae, are living creatures, life is changing.
Wrench and his people are working the part of crew and earning their keep. Being treated as equals of worth instead of pets.
Except even as things change, there will always be problems that spring up. Things that break all on their own.
Which will of course require Wrench to fix it and anything that gets in his way.
At this point though, he’s getting tired of fixing everything and everyone that comes his way and his patience is wearing thin.
The fix it list only grows and the tools he has at his disposal are getting worn-out.
With any luck, this job will be done and Wrench can take some time-off.

But the path forward isn't as clear-cut as it seems. With the stakes higher than ever, Wrench must navigate a world where aliens treat humans as pets, and each decision could cost him not just his life, but his very identity. A new lease on life doesn't come without its challenges, especially when every moment is a test of loyalty, survival, and the constant struggle for freedom.
In this gripping series, Randi Darren delves deep into themes of autonomy, self-discovery, and the price of power. The world-building is rich with complex alien politics, technology, and moral dilemmas, all set against a backdrop that pushes the boundaries of what we understand about humanity’s place in the universe. The characters are vivid and multi-layered, each with their own motivations, flaws, and desires that make them feel undeniably real.
The narrative pulses with intensity, drawing readers into Wrench’s internal battle as much as his external struggles. With each book, the stakes grow, and the world grows more perilous. From high-stakes action to profound moments of introspection, the series offers a balance of thrilling adventure and thought-provoking exploration of power dynamics, freedom, and what it means to be human.
