Kingdom of the Conqueror Worm, the concluding chapter of the Lunar Gothic trilogy, finds Dr. Cull serving as the doctor aboard a prison vessel that is drifting, powerless, beyond the solar system. Their wayward path takes them by the as-yet-undiscovered Pluto and its haunted moon, Charon.
Locked in orbit around Charon is a mausoleum ship, onto which Cull and the other crew members are able to escape the doomed prison ship. The mausoleum ship is holding thousands of corpses of unknown providence, and is stalked by the mysterious Worm Priest. It is in these halls, among the whispers and dreams of the dead, that Cull will come to a final reckoning with the Moon Spider and his own demented obsessions.
