Higher Demon

A thousand years ago, my great-something uncle founded the Collective, a secret organization dedicated to protecting humanity from demons. The hunter tradition has been passed down through the family over the generations, from parent to child, secure in the knowledge that the Collective is a community of safety and knowledge. The only constant. No matter the demon, the hunter's role is clear.

Six years ago, everything changed. My world was turned upside down, my faith shattered. Enemies became allies, and those I should have been able to trust the most betrayed us all. When it was over, my new role was to pick up the pieces and rebuild the Collective.

I never intended for that to lead me here. The demon ambassador is an stuck-up, pretentious twat... not to mention he could kill me with a thought. I'm a twentysomething archivist with an addiction to sweats. So how did I end up as liaison to the ambassador? And why is he suddenly a whole lot more attractive?
