Evading the Alien Bride Lottery

NOTE: The events in this book occur before the events in Fighting for the Alien Bride Lottery, Book 12 of the Khanavai Bride Games series. I meant for him to steal me away. I never intended to allow him to steal my heart.

When the Alien Bride Lottery revised its rules to allow human women who wanted to marry aliens, it was supposed to change everything—no more unwilling brides, only eager participants.

That was the theory, anyway.

But when my best work frenemy signs me up for the Lottery without my knowledge and my name is actually drawn, no one cares that it wasn’t my choice—not Earth officials, and certainly not Vos Klavoii, the Games Director who’s determined to make sure his people survive.

Besides, Klavoii believes a surprise contestant now and then will improve his show’s ratings, and that’s what he truly cares about.

So I do the only thing I can think of: bribe a hot Khanavai pilot to sneak me off Station 21.

Now I’m in a race for my freedom—but I’m beginning to think that gorgeous alien might be the biggest threat to my independence yet.
