Off Midway Station

In the vast, uncharted expanse of space, survival is a game of strategy, resilience, and sacrifice. Guardians of the Dark takes readers into a thrilling world of intergalactic warfare where the lines between duty and survival are often blurred. Marc Alan Edelheit's gripping series follows Captain Jim Garrett, a man with a haunted past who is thrust into a leadership role aboard the experimental warship CNS Surprise.

As humanity faces a relentless alien threat, Garrett must transform a crew of misfits into a cohesive, battle-hardened force capable of defending the galaxy’s future. In the series' opening book, Off Midway Station, Garrett’s tactical genius and leadership are tested as he's pushed to the brink of his limits, dealing with both external enemies and internal struggles. Each decision could mean the difference between life and death, not just for him but for every soul aboard the ship.

The series doesn’t just delve into the mechanics of war; it explores the complex relationships between the characters, their evolving arcs, and the psychological toll of combat. As the crew faces betrayal, doubt, and the ever-present weight of leadership, Edelheit paints a world where the cost of war is never truly clear-cut.

In Off Javelin Station, the stakes are raised, and Garrett finds himself confronting even darker forces, both alien and human. The story dives deeper into espionage, political intrigue, and the emotional complexities of leading a fractured fleet.

With its meticulously crafted world-building, tactical brilliance, and emotional depth, Guardians of the Dark will resonate with fans of military science fiction who crave both the thrill of interstellar battles and the heart of a character-driven narrative. Each book builds upon the last, creating a rich, immersive experience that pulls readers into its world of sacrifice, loyalty, and war.

This is a saga where victory is not just about defeating the enemy, but surviving the darkness within. Perfect for those who enjoy fast-paced action combined with powerful personal stories, Guardians of the Dark is a journey into the heart of what it means to fight for something greater than oneself.
