The Rebirth of the Dragons

Not every plan works out the way that you want.

Smuggling the cure into all the wells of the Dragon's compounds wouldn't be easy, but at least Faron finally had a way to help his people. If only that were the only danger he faced. The Council's assassins, with their poisoned claws and twisted minds, threaten Faron at every turn. But the hardest part of all this? Leaving Pearl in their hands. It seemed like the best way to keep the Council's eyes off him and spread the cure without interference. She's strong, but the Council's depraved leaders could be up to anything...

Pearl thought she could withstand anything the Council might throw at her. The solitary cell in the blazing desert sun wouldn't be the worst dungeon she'd seen and was much more pleasant than she expected. She could handle Bleiz's lurid whispers and Mixcoatl's constant questions. Pearl wouldn't allow those to break her. But as the city worsens and clean water grows scarce, Pearl begins to weaken--and her hidden magic threatens to erupt.
