They seem open, outgoing and almost innocent compared to Draconian queens. There is no arguing that they’re clever and intelligent beings, but Meric harbors reservations. He guards himself until he is sure they aren’t more skilled at deception.

Especially the lovely healer who insisted on joining his crew. Meric knows that he spends too much time thinking of her. It takes all his discipline as a warrior not to follow her with his eyes and run when she needs assistance. He refuses to become enamored with another cruel female, albeit one wrapped in a beautiful package.
