The series
Every legacy carries a price, and for Cyprian Malachai, that cost may be the world itself. The Shadows of Fire series follows the next chapter in the saga that began with Nick Gautier, a teenager fated to become a destroyer yet still determined to rewrite his destiny. Now the torch passes to Cyprian, who must navigate a dangerous inheritance of power while hunted by gods, demons, and those who fear what he might become.
Read full series description
This is not a tale of clear heroes and villains. The world of Shadows of Fire is steeped in ancient rivalries where alliances shift like smoke and every decision has the weight to tip the balance between salvation and ruin. Battles ignite across haunted streets, fractured sanctuaries, and cosmic thresholds, but the heart of the story lies in its characters, outsiders wrestling with loyalty, betrayal, and the haunting question of whether they are bound by blood or free to forge their own path.
What makes the series so compelling is its seamless blend of urban fantasy grit with mythological depth. Action sequences burn with intensity, yet the quieter moments carry just as much force, revealing vulnerability behind bravado and humanity within monsters. Fan-favorite figures from the broader Dark-Hunter universe make appearances, but this is also a saga that stands on its own, carving out a distinctive space in young adult fantasy with a darker, more intimate lens.
For readers drawn to supernatural thrillers that fuse destiny, danger, and emotional reckoning, Shadows of Fire is a series that lingers long after the last page. It asks whether the fire we inherit must consume us, or if it can light the way to something entirely new.
