She’s convinced she can’t be loved. He’s determined to prove she already is.

Jordan
I’m a divorce lawyer. Victorious in court, hopeless in love. The plan? Swear off dating and bury myself in work. The only reason I showed up at the orc firefighter speed-dating event was because my best friend dragged me along as moral support.

I ended up paired with Forge—six-foot-eight of hot green muscle and infuriating patience. One incendiary kiss ignited a night of raw hunger I can’t stop replaying.

Then I did what I always I panicked.

Forge doesn’t pout. He builds. We each put ten date ideas in a a taco truck crawl, a vintage pinball tournament, even letting me into his workshop—his hands guiding mine over smooth wood until the air between us burns hotter than any fire.

With him, every disaster feels like destiny in disguise. The more time we spend together, the more I know his heart, and the harder it is to walk away.

Forge

She’s guarded. I’m devoted. She’s brilliant. I’m hers. She thinks she’s unlovable; I know she’s my destiny.

So, I make it one date at a time. I’ll shoulder the weight. I’ll do the heavy lifting, so she can finally let go in my arms.
And I’ll worship what doesn’t need fixing—her. Every kiss, every laugh, every night in my arms proves the same Jordan is mine.

This Thanksgiving, I want her at my side—with my brothers at Station 32, and my soulbond etched into her flesh.

No cheating. No cliffhanger. Just five-alarm monster romance heat, a fiercely possessive orc, his grumpy heroine, and a firehouse family that always serves up second helpings of love, laughter, and heat. From USA TODAY Bestselling author Alana Khan.

Alana Khan

Alana Khan writes where the heart meets the stars, blending raw human emotion with the thrill of otherworldly adventure. A USA Today bestselling author, she has built a devoted following across the worlds of sci-fi and monster romance, crafting stories that are as emotionally charged as they are unapologetically steamy.

Before she began creating alien warriors, battle-scarred heroes, and fierce heroines fighting for love among the stars, Khan worked as a psychotherapist specializing in trauma and PTSD. That background threads through every page she writes. Her characters, whether human, hybrid, or something far stranger, are never simple archetypes. They are survivors. They carry wounds, face inner darkness, and heal through connection. It is this emotional depth that gives her romantic universes a pulse that feels utterly real, even when set light years away.

Khan entered the publishing world in 2019 with Zar, the first book in her Galaxy Gladiators series, and quickly established a reputation for stories that balance high-stakes action, emotional healing, and fiery chemistry. Since then, she has created entire interconnected worlds, including Galaxy Sanctuary, OrcFire, and Galaxy Artificials, each exploring different facets of love, whether between broken souls, misunderstood monsters, or synthetic beings learning what it means to feel.

Behind the pseudonym, Alana Khan remains deeply connected to her readers. Her Alanaverse extends beyond her novels, offering fans glimpses into her process, playful personal anecdotes, and the shared belief that love, no matter how unconventional, is worth fighting for.

Through her mix of psychological insight, emotional realism, and fearless sensuality, Khan has become one of the defining voices in steamy sci-fi and monster romance, reminding readers that even in the darkest galaxies, there is always light and someone worth holding onto.

OrcFire

In the scorching heart of the Mojave Desert, where fences divide humanity from the “Others,” the flames don’t just burn, they bind. The OrcFire series by Alana Khan and Aria Vale reimagines monster romance with the grit of firefighters, the ache of forbidden love, and the spark of redemption in a world that’s forgotten its mercy.

Twenty-five years after orcs and other beings crash-landed on Earth, they’ve been exiled to a barren zone outside Los Angeles. Feared by humans, branded as monsters, they fight the only way they know how, by saving lives. Behind the sirens and smoke are stories of strength and longing: an orc who hides his scars beneath soot-blackened armor, a human woman whose courage burns hotter than any blaze, and a love that refuses to stay contained.

Each book follows a different pair caught between prejudice and passion, their connection forged in danger and tempered by loyalty. The orcs may be fierce, but what defines them isn’t their size or strength, it’s their humanity. The heroines who meet them don’t need saving; they bring their own fire, forcing both worlds to question who the real monsters are.

The world-building glows with cinematic detail: a desert turned refugee zone, a firehouse where brotherhood replaces bloodlines, a society that fears what it doesn’t understand. Themes of acceptance, sacrifice, and belonging run beneath the surface like underground heat. And though every story ends in hard-won love, the road there is littered with ash, courage, and the quiet triumph of hearts that refuse to cool.

For readers drawn to orc romance and paranormal love stories that blend raw emotion, social tension, and slow-burn heat, this series stands apart. It’s not just about monsters and humans, it’s about what’s left standing after the world burns and two souls choose to rebuild from the ashes together.

This was the first book from the OrcFire Series that I have read and it worked well as a standalone story although I am sure there are some aspects that are even better if you have read the other characters stories even if it isn't necessary for enjoying this one. I loved reading about Forge & Jordan in this book and seeing how their characters evolved as they grew closer. Their dates were a lot of fun and I loved the holiday chapters near the end of the story. I look forward to reading more about Ryder in the next book.

I received a free advanced reader copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
