My encounter with Death isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning.

They call me the Vampire Whisperer. I suppose I’ve earned that title after brokering a peace agreement between the most powerful and ruthless vampire houses in the world. It gained me some allies—but even more enemies, those who had been eager to use the warring houses as a means to seize power. To them, I’m an obstacle, and they want me dead.

Using a forbidden curse, they summon a Shadow God—our grim reaper, death incarnate—to deal with me. Instead, they snare my friend in a dark spell, leaving her on the brink of death.

Desperate to save her, I trap the Shadow God and propose a deal: her life in return for his freedom.

But when the Shadow God effortlessly breaks my magical containment, I brace for annihilation. Instead, I find myself oath bound to him, forced to accept an impossible task in exchange for my best friend’s life.

Now, bound to a lethal deity who’s as infuriating as he is alluring, the lines between survival and surrender begin to blur. I refuse to fall for the deadly immortal who has the face of an angel but the heart of a monster.

This is a game of survival between me and the merciless Shadow God—and I have every intention of winning.
