The Lone Cyborg
Can a stubborn miner and a gruff cyborg ranger survive the dangers of Mars—and their growing desire?
Mattie is perfectly happy on her isolated mining claim, thank you very much. She and her cybernetic canary Sylvester are doing just fine—no matter what the big, grumpy cyborg responsible for her territory seems to think.
J-418 takes his job as a ranger very seriously. Frequent checks on the stubborn, annoying—and ridiculously adorable—woman living on her own are just part of his job. They certainly aren’t because he actually enjoys his encounters with the prickly little female.
When danger forces the two together, they make a series of startling discoveries, not the least of which is an unexpected passion. But life on Mars is about to change - for everyone!
Each book in the Cyborg on Mars series can be enjoyed as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy science fiction romance is intended for mature readers. A version of this story was previously published in the Pets in Space 9 anthology.
Honey Phillips
Honey Phillips is a USA Today bestselling author who’s mastered the art of combining steamy romance with thrilling science fiction. Her books are a thrilling ride through galaxies filled with alien warriors, fierce Earth women, and love that defies the stars. With her stories, readers are swept into universes where danger lurks, but passion always prevails, making her books a must-read for fans of intense romance with a sci-fi twist.
Honey’s passion for storytelling began early. At just five years old, she penned and illustrated her first book—a creation that, while brimming with imagination, lacked a certain polish in the art department. Thankfully, her writing skills have since evolved into a fine-tuned craft, while her drawing remains… well, let's just say, she prefers to leave that to others. Writing is her true calling, and she has spent years honing her craft, blending the excitement of sci-fi with the allure of romance in a way that captivates her readers.
Cyborgs on Mars
On the scarlet plains of Mars, survival is more than a test of strength, it is a measure of what it means to be human. Engineered from the remnants of war, the cyborgs of Mars were designed to endure isolation, harsh landscapes, and the weight of their own power. Decades later, their world has become both prison and sanctuary, where the line between machine and heart grows ever thinner.
Cyborgs on Mars consists of 11 total books. The current recommended reading order for the series is provided below.
Reviews and Comments
This was the first book from the Cyborgs on Mars that I have read and I enjoyed reading it and getting to know J-418 (Jeb) & Mattie. I also really liked Mattie's cybernetic canary Sylvester and Jeb's cybernetic horse Trojan, they were a really fun pair to lighten the mood sometimes. I always enjoy reading Honey Phillips' books and look forward to reading many more in the future.
I received a free advanced reader copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
