About the Book
In the shadows of Zion National Park, beauty and terror walk side by side, and every trail may be your last.
Park Investigator Rae Anne Schott’s father vanished from Zion National Park when she was just a girl. Now another man has gone missing in the same area—footprints ending without explanation, belongings abandoned mid-step. The town whispers about cover-ups, curses, and shadows in the canyon, while outsiders turn the mystery into entertainment.
Drawn back to the place she swore she’d escaped, Rae Anne finds herself caught between estranged family, old betrayals, and a community where power and superstition run side by side. Each clue she uncovers draws her deeper into the canyon’s secrets, and closer to the haunting possibility that not every case is meant to be solved.
Because in the dark wild, the missing are not always lost. Sometimes, they’re taken.
