Mated by Fire Book 4

Katie May never set out to be a writer, but life had a way of steering her in that direction. Initially pursuing a path in political science and legal studies, she found herself unexpectedly drawn to storytelling, starting with a simple bet with her sister. That playful wager turned into The Darkness We Crave, her debut novel, which she self-published in 2018. To her surprise, the book quickly gained traction, becoming a hit in the indie author community after being promoted by a fellow author.

From that moment, Katie's passion for writing was ignited, and she dove headfirst into the world of fiction, eventually penning over 60 books across more than 25 series. Known for blending paranormal romance, fantasy, and contemporary fiction, Katie’s works often feature fierce, multi-dimensional female protagonists, unconventional relationship dynamics, and the kind of humor that lingers long after the book is closed. Her series, including Afterworld Academy, The Damning, and Darkest Flames, are beloved for their emotionally charged narratives, steamy reverse harem romances, and complex characters who refuse to fit into neat boxes.

Katie’s approach to storytelling is refreshingly candid and bold. She’s not afraid to explore taboo subjects or push the limits of genre conventions, which has earned her a devoted fan base. Her books often explore themes of self-discovery, love that defies expectations, and the chaos and beauty of human relationships. With a knack for creating rich, immersive worlds and deeply relatable characters, Katie has made a significant mark on the indie fiction scene, solidifying her place as a USA Today bestselling author.

When she’s not writing, you can find Katie indulging in her love of horror movies or enjoying a cup of coffee while connecting with her readers through her newsletter and social media. It’s clear that writing isn't just her career—it's a passion that runs deep, fueling her journey and her connection to the fans who adore her stories. Whether you’re a long-time reader or new to her worlds, Katie May’s books promise to take you on an unforgettable ride full of magic, romance, and adventure.
