Retired Delta Force officer Brad Taylor’s thrilling new short story takes us back to before the Taskforce was created, revealing the origins of Israeli agents Aaron and Shoshana as they are tasked with eliminating a former Nazi officer hiding in plain sight.

Includes an exclusive preview of Brad Taylor’s eleventh Pike Logan thriller, Ring of Fire, coming December 27, 2016.

1998. A year after a disastrous mission in Amman, Jordan, Israeli operative Aaron Bergman and his Samson team feel more like outcasts than ever. Fearful that his team is about to be disbanded, Aaron is thrown another curve: a cast-off operative named Shoshana, who nobody in the Mossad trusts, and who all feel is a traitor. When the new commander of the Mossad summons them immediately after being sworn in, Aaron’s fears are confirmed. The team is cut free from the Mossad but not from serving their new leader.

Unsanctioned by the Israeli government, their mission is to assassinate a Nazi murderer from Auschwitz: a man who stood guard on the wall of death and has since escaped to Argentina, and who is running a lucrative business with his sons. When Aaron and Shoshana accept the mission, it sets them on a collision course with an active operation involving a reborn Nazi web intertwined with Iran, forcing the pair to trust each other as the evil they were tasked with destroying sets its sights on one last strike against Israel no one sees coming.

Brad Taylor

Brad Taylor

Long before Brad Taylor’s name appeared on bestseller lists, he was navigating the real-world terrain of espionage, war zones, and covert operations. A former U.S. Army Special Forces lieutenant colonel, Taylor didn’t just study counterterrorism—he lived it. That lived experience pulses through every page of his pulse-pounding thrillers, blurring the line between fiction and reality in a way few authors can manage. His stories aren’t just believable—they’re unnervingly possible.

Taylor launched his fiction career with One Rough Man, the explosive debut that introduced readers to Pike Logan, a character as relentless and complicated as the world he inhabits. Since then, the Pike Logan series has grown into a mainstay of the modern military thriller genre, known for its gripping authenticity, rapid pacing, and morally gray protagonists. Whether it’s thwarting terrorist cells, navigating geopolitical minefields, or questioning the ethics of clandestine warfare, Taylor’s work explores the high-stakes complexity of global conflict without flinching.

What sets his writing apart isn’t just the technical precision—though the weaponry, strategy, and military jargon are spot-on—but the way he threads vulnerability into even his hardest characters. Taylor understands that action alone doesn’t sustain a story; the emotional toll, the uncertainty, and the impossible choices are where real tension lives.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, and raised across the globe in a military family, Taylor always had a front-row seat to international affairs. After serving for over two decades and conducting operations in some of the world’s most volatile regions, he transitioned to writing with the same level of discipline and intensity that marked his military career. The result? Stories that don’t just entertain—they inform, provoke, and linger.

With over a dozen titles hitting the New York Times bestseller list, Brad Taylor has earned his reputation as one of the most compelling voices in modern espionage fiction. Yet, despite the accolades and acclaim, his focus remains laser-sharp: to tell stories that feel real, no matter how far into the shadows they go.

Pike Logan

In the world of covert operations, where the line between justice and vengeance blurs with every mission, one name echoes through the shadows—a man forged in conflict, shaped by loss, and unbound by conventional rules. The series that follows him doesn’t just offer thrill—it pulls you into the heartbeat of modern espionage, where every decision carries a cost, and survival is never guaranteed.

Spanning global hot zones and back-channel operations, the Pike Logan novels immerse readers in a high-stakes world that feels unsettlingly close to reality. At the center is a counterterrorism unit so secret it doesn’t officially exist—a Taskforce created to eliminate threats before they reach headlines. But beneath the surface-level action lies something deeper: the personal toll of a life lived in secrecy, the shifting loyalties of a fractured world, and the moral ambiguity of those chosen to protect it.

What makes this series stand apart isn’t just the precision of the military tactics or the ripped-from-the-headlines storylines—it’s the emotional weight behind every mission. Characters evolve, scar, and sometimes break. Missions go off-script. And trust, once lost, can be deadly. The writing pulses with insider knowledge, but never forgets that tension is only gripping when readers care about the people in the crosshairs.

This isn’t the kind of thriller series that plays it safe. It digs into the uncomfortable truths of counterintelligence, raises hard questions, and never underestimates its audience. Gritty, immersive, and relentlessly paced, the Pike Logan series has become a standout in modern military and espionage fiction—not just because it thrills, but because it feels like the truth hiding behind the headlines.

For readers drawn to tightly woven plots, morally complex operatives, and the haunting reality of what it means to fight in the shadows, this is where the mission begins.
