Charles Sheffield (1935–2002) was an English-born mathematician, physicist and science fiction author.
Short stories present the space exploits of Arthur Morton McAndrew, and the efforts of his companion, spaceship captain Jeanie Roker, to track him down after he suddenly disappears while testing a new kind of space drive.
