In recent years Amy Meyerson has stepped into darker territory. Her forthcoming novel The Water Lies turns toward psychological suspense, placing two mothers at the center of a haunting death in the Venice Beach canals. The shift suits her interests perfectly, allowing her to use tension and uncertainty to examine motherhood, guilt, and the uneasy line between intuition and fear. Even when the tone grows sharper, the heart of her work remains the same, characters trying to understand themselves by uncovering the truth.

Meyerson was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and later moved west to study creative writing at the University of Southern California. After earning her graduate degree she joined the USC writing department as an instructor, guiding new writers while quietly building her own body of work. She has received recognition for her short fiction in literary contests and journals, achievements that reflect a long commitment to craft rather than a sudden sprint to publication. Today she lives in Los Angeles with her husband and children, still chasing the small sparks of inspiration that become her novels.
