Embolus
Welcome to the trauma ward, a place of healing . . .
Death is a fact of life at the Gillette Trauma Center, a prestigious Washington, D.C. facility that gets more than its fair share of borderline cases. At some point the doctors have all seen a recovering patient suddenly slip away as the result of a pulmonary embolus—a fatal blood clot that can form after serious injury.
But lately it’s been happening with alarming frequency.
. . . and harm
Trauma surgeon Alex Airoway believes her colleagues are doing everything in their power to help their patients. But when her journalist brother David starts digging into these mysterious deaths, he makes some very powerful enemies at her hospital.
Now, he's in a coma, and the police think it was self-inflicted. Alex knows better. In a frantic race to uncover the truth and protect him, she picks up where his investigations left off, uncovering a secret society with dangerous goals. Goals they will stop at nothing to achieve.
It’s up to Alex to expose the conspiracy before her brother, and everyone she holds dear, become the next mysterious victims in a deadly game of control and power.

Before I first set pen to paper as a novelist some twenty years ago, I was a fulltime pediatric surgeon. I completed eight years of surgical training at the Ohio State University and remain an ardent fan. The question I’m asked most often is; how did you find the time to write novels and attend to a busy pediatric surgical practice at the same time? The simple answer is when you spend every waking hour pursuing your life’s passions, you can always find time. But I will admit that having more time now is a luxury that I enthusiastically embrace. It affords me the opportunity to devote more time to writing, and to get more involved with my readers.
