Absence of Remorse
Some secrets should stay buried...
For eight years, medicolegal specialist Dr. Quinn Trescott split her time between the emergency room and the courtroom. But since the sudden and horrific death of her twin sister Palmer, Quinn has found herself at a crossroads. Burned out and grieving, she returns to her hometown in Maine to rest and recover.
Ten months ago, Palmer was found mauled on a wooded trail, the obvious victim of a bear attack. The county closed the case fast, a judge sealed the autopsy file for reasons no one can explain, and the town moved on. But as Quinn spends time around the people who knew Palmer best, it becomes clear that the last few months of her sister’s life were filled with secrets.
The kind of secrets that can turn deadly.
There are people in power who want Palmer’s past kept quiet. And though everyone she loves begs Quinn not to dig deeper, she was trained to read bodies and build cases, not bury grief.
Quinn is determined to learn more about her sister’s fate. But is uncovering the truth about Palmer’s life worth risking her own?

Before I first set pen to paper as a novelist some twenty years ago, I was a fulltime pediatric surgeon. I completed eight years of surgical training at the Ohio State University and remain an ardent fan. The question I’m asked most often is; how did you find the time to write novels and attend to a busy pediatric surgical practice at the same time? The simple answer is when you spend every waking hour pursuing your life’s passions, you can always find time. But I will admit that having more time now is a luxury that I enthusiastically embrace. It affords me the opportunity to devote more time to writing, and to get more involved with my readers.
